Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Upper Darby Township is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Upper Darby Township follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Five if us had a lovely time her for "tea". Everything was tasty and they even have a vegetarian option. We were allowed to select two types of tea for the group, which they wonderfully kept filling. The shop is in a beautiful old house filled upstairs and downstairs with treasures - teas, tea accessories, jewelry, candles, cute tops, lots of lovely scarves....! I see there are already photos of the food and beautiful tableware. I will share a photo of the parking lot. There was a large party upstairs so three of our group had to park next door at Wawa.

I have been going to the Painted Tea Cup for several years, and I cannot believe that I never wrote a review for this perfectly wonderful tea room. Our family, consistently, refers to the Painted Tea Cup as the, "Best tea room ever". The food and tea selections, are delicious and beautifully presented. My 9 year old granddaughter, joined me for tea yesterday, and she said that it was even better than she imagined! We were warmly greeted by our hostess, Susan, who was incredibly friendly and engaging, with my granddaughter and me, as well as all who came after us. On two occasions, the owner, Mary, spoke to us, and hugged my granddaughter, when she said how much she enjoyed her tea experience. The Painted tea cup is in a 109 year old home, in Upper Darby, that is tastefully, and beautifully decorated, by the owner, with original artwork, as well as additional decorations that accentuate this beautiful two-floor tea room. Our primary server was Evelyn, and, at times, Megan and Concetta, were available to bring fresh tea, etc. The tea sandwiches, scone, banana bread, teas, spreads and desserts were plentiful, delicious and extremely well presented. There is also a wonderful selection

My friends and I like to try different tea rooms. Painted tea cup came highly recommended and did not disappoint! The sandwiches were delicious as were scones and everything else. The service was wonderful. Loved the boutique as well!! Even though this is an hour drive for us, we really loved it. My personal favorite tea roomπ

I found The Painted Tea Cup online in a search for a special holiday get-together venue. Upper Darby was fairly central for all of us, and the tearoom was nicely located near route 1 and not far from route 3, in a nice residential area. The personal attention and service was wonderful, from the time I called to make a reservation to the time our party dispersed, full of tea, delicious treats and goodwill to all. The whole experience lifted our spirits on a bleak day. The owner Mary and her staff members were so friendly and helpful, and everything was so good, from the special holiday teas to the delicate sandwiches and desserts. Many nice items for sale throughout the space, and we were able to get a private room for six, a very nice bonus. We will definitely return!

For my 70th birthday, my girlfriend, Karen, and a few of my other friends got together, and we went to The Painted Tea Cup. We felt welcomed from the very minute we arrived.
